About me
I’m Nathan Jones, the Senior Minister at Oasis Church Waterloo and Executive Director at Oasis Hub Waterloo, the charity we set up to manage the ever-growing work the church was doing.
We run the local primary and secondary schools, advice work (debt, welfare, immigration, and housing), the Lambeth & Croydon Foodbank, an open-access community space which runs all day Monday-Friday, youth work, a children’s centre, mentoring, counselling and more, and still at the heart of it is our church community. All of this is done with the aim of radical community transformation, where everyone is in, everyone is valued, everyone thrives and enjoys life in all its fullness.
I’ve worked for Oasis for over a decade, since giving up a marketing career that started in the arts and also included roles in education, big and small charities, and for a short time, finance. (That last one was a mistake.)
Recently I’ve started to speak at a few other places – Christian events, other churches, my old college at Oxford, panel discussions about theology, and some press work with BBC London and ITV London. I’ve enjoyed this, and would like to do it more often, so I thought I’d make a website. So, if you’d like me to talk or write about church, theology, community work – or all at the same time – get in touch.
